Meigetsuin

This is a Rinzai sect Kenchoji temple in Kamakura city. It is also known as the Hydrangea Temple. Most of the hydrangeas are of the Hime-ji variety. They have light blue flowers.
Meigetsu-in is famous for its hydrangeas, but there are about 3,000 irises in the garden behind the main hall, and the garden is only open to the public during the irises and autumn leaves season.
