Osaka Castle Park
This is one of the best plum gardens in the Kansai region, where you can enjoy 1,270 plum trees with Osaka Castle in the background. It opened in March 1974. It has the largest number of varieties in western Japan, with 100 varieties. Early-flowering varieties and wintersweets begin to bloom around January, and late-flowering varieties can be enjoyed until around mid-March. The view of the castle tower seen through the noble plum blossoms is magnificent, and you can feel the Japanese style. Osaka Castle Park is also planted with about 3,000 cherry trees, and when in full bloom, the cherry blossoms color the entire park. The view of the cherry blossoms with Osaka Castle in the background is particularly impressive, and many cherry blossom viewers spread out their sheets and enjoy picnics and photography. At night, the park is sometimes lit up, so you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night. Plum trees announce the arrival of early spring, and cherry blossoms are a symbol of spring, coloring the seasonal scenery of Osaka Castle Park. Both flowers have their own charms and can be enjoyed in different ways depending on the season.
