Takaoka Castle Park

Takaoka Castle Park in Takaoka City was developed on the site of Takaoka Castle, which was built by Maeda Toshinaga, the feudal lord of Kaga. It is a rare moated park in Japan, with about 30% of the park being made up of moats. It has been selected as one of Japan's 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots, with about 1,800 cherry trees of 18 varieties planted, and you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night when they are in full bloom.
